Kenna's first day at school!

Uniform : Red Shirt - check, Blue Shorts - check

Extras : Pigtails - check, Bows - check

Family : Parents - check, Li'l sis - check

Kenna's first day at her new school was great. She had fun while her mom worried...right up until it was time to pick her up! And now we've made it through the first week without Kenna or her mom melting down too much. I got a couple of pretty awful pictures with my phone while she was in her classroom too!

Aubrie still doing well

I noticed that I hadn't updated the blog in a few months - and the last thing on there was about Aubrie's surgery. This is just a picture to show her (about 3 1/2 months now) relaxing/taking a break/snoozin'/chillin'/resting in her car seat. The pic was actually taken as Aubrie was helping drop Kenna off for her first day of school! See next post for more on that...

Surgery at 5 weeks...not cool

Unfortunately, Kim and I now know what gastric volvulus is. Apparently, it's a condition which causes the stomach to flip around over 180 degrees (can be life threatening). However, my amazing wife was instrumental in helping get Aubrie's condition identified faster than anyone at the hospital had ever heard of. Call it 'mother's intuition', but she felt God guiding us to pursue a better answer than it just being reflux.

Since the surgery, Aubrie is much more comfortable and eating better every day. She's our little fighter.
